BECOME A
REFEREE

Would you like to become a referee? Here is information about courses offered by age categories.

10 or 11 years
You must be at least 12 years old in order to take a referee course. However, if you are 10 or 11 years old, it is possible to act as a “game leader” for U8 level matches. No qualification is necessary to be a game leader.

12 or 13 years
If you are 12 or 13 years old, you are eligible to take a Small Sided Course. This course is usually one day long and allows you to become a referee for matches played on small fields (7 v 7).

14 years or older
If you are 14 years old or older, you are eligible to take an Entry Level Course. This course is usually two days long and allows you to become a referee or an assistant referee (linesman) for matches played on medium fields (9 v 9) or on large field (11 v 11).

It should be noted that the course registration fees will be reimbursed by the club to RUSC referees*
